Support: Diagnostic information.

This diagnostic package is provided to help establish if the Holiday Letting System is correctly installed. If there are problems, it can also collect diagnostic information to assist resolve the problems. This program should be run only after you have reported a problem, and been asked to download and run it. This file runs on all recent versions of Windows (including Vista). It does not modify your system in any way, apart from creating files that you can subsequently delete (as described below).

Note: You are strongly recommended to read the Help Files and the Support Information on the Web before resorting to requesting support or using this program.

Package: "Diagnostics.exe" - Click here to download.

Installation:

  1. Click the link above to download Diagnostics.exe.
  2. Double click Diagnostics.exe to install the diagnostics to Program Files\ErwWen\LetSys\Diagnostics. The following files are installed:
    1. This Help file (named DiagHelp.htm).
    2. The Diagnostic Program (named diagnose.exe)
    3. A file named 7Za.exe which will ZIP diagnostic information into a single file which will be sent to Support@ErwWen.com
You should accept the defaults when installing.
  3. Once installed, you will see a desktop icon entitled Diagnose. Click this to run the program.
Note: On Vista you need to give permission for both the self-extractor and the program to run.

Running the program:

  • Double click the desktop shortcut Diagnose to run the program, or go to Start / Programs / LetSys and click Diagnose.
  • When the program starts, information about your system is displayed (Windows version, hardware information, LetSys settings)
  • You can then copy this information plus other data needed for problem resolution into a single file, by clicking the ZIP button. This causes a file called DiagData.zip to be written to your root data folder - normally C:\LetSys\DiagData.Zip.
  • Note: On Windows Vista, when you click ZIP, you will see a message from UAC saying Windows needs your permission to continue. Click Continue. (You may see a flashing box on your taskbar that has to be clicked to bring up this message).
  • Next, click the eMail button to automatically create an email which has the file as an attachment.

Once you have finished with this diagnostic program you can completely and easily remove it as follows:

  1. From the start menu, click Control Panel
